Minimum Adult rate

Effective 1 April 2016 the minimum adult rate for employees 16 years or over is $610.00 per week (or $15.25 per hour).

Starting Out and Training rates

For 16 and 17 year olds entering the workforce and 18 and 19 year olds who have been on a benefit for six months or more the “Starting-Out” minimum rate from 1 April 2016 is $488.00 per week ($12.20 per hour).

For employees over 20 years of age who are required to undergo training for the purpose of being qualified in their occupation, the “Training” minimum rate from 1 April 2016 is also $488.00 per week ($12.20 per hour).
